Forklift firm enables business to reach new heights

A top UK forklift attachment company is celebrating sucess after providing a health and safety solution to a world-leading communications and navigation firm.

Contact Attachments, based in Newtown, Mid Wales, recently supplied its innovative forklift jibs to Cobham Composite Technologies (CTT), proving the company with a safer alternative to lift, move and place heavy tools and equipment at its site in Wimborne.

James Cooper, S.H.E. Administrator at Cobham Composite Technologies, explained: "We move heavy and potentially dangerous tools and machinery across our site on a daily basis, and our employees are often responsible for the accurate positioning and placement of the tooling which can be physically draining. We called upon Contact Attachments as their competitively-priced forklift jibs matched our stringent health and safety requirements better than anything else on the market".

"The jibs were delivered in just one week", James continued. "And because we were provided with such clear instructions, our employees were able to use the equipment straight away with great ease. The forklift jibs have significantly reduced the risk of accidents occurring, which can often happen when people handle heavy materials manually, and have been a real hit with our team"

Cobham Composite Technologies specialises in providing innovative communications, navigation, electronic welfare, telemetry, and radar antennas to major commercial aviation manufacturers and operators across the world, enabling people to communicate on land, in the air, and at sea"

David Manuel, Technical Sales Consultant at Contact Attachments, added, "Our forklift jibs come in a range of sizes, including low level jibs for working in vertically confined spaces, extendable jibs for added reach, and high lift jibs to reach elevated areas".

"They can be fitted to the forklift with ease, which is particularly helpful if the truck is required for multiple tasks throughout the day, or can be directly fixed to a trucks carriage as a more permanent feature. Standard jibs are also available and range from 1800mm to 3000mm, as well as custom made jibs, which can be designed to suit customer's specifications if necessary," David concluded.
