With UK Steel, the trade body for the UK steel industry, issuing a further safety warning about the use of Chinese steel, it is important we feel to re-assure our customers of our own steel sourcing policies.
From an article taken from ‘The Manufacturer”, it appears instances are being reported of Chinese steel containing elevated metallic elements in order to obtain acceptance under the strict EU specification for “Non-Alloy Steel”. These such additions can potentially cause the steel to crack during welding, with the alarming warning that such defects could not show up until 48 hours later.
Here at Contact Attachments you can be assured that we only use steel which conforms to the European standards EN 10 113 and EN 10 025 (1990). This standard covers the specification of four grades of steel, with grade 43A being the most commonly used steel grade which we use in the manufacture of our forklift attachments.
With it being said in the trade “Buy cheap, buy twice”, further assurance can be gained from the fact that our material is sourced through long established quality British suppliers. With high quality material fused with high quality workmanship, that is why we feel, whether you are looking for tipping skips, forklift crane jibs, drum handlers or forklift safety cages........we are the number one forklift attachment company to come to for all your material handling needs.
