With all the forklift attachments in use within the UK on a daily basis, we are not sure all users of such attachments realise that their attachment must undergo a Thorough Examination at least every 12 months (in some cases 4-6 months) and that it is their legal responsibility to ensure this is in place.

This is not a recommendation or an advisory, but a legal requirement under Health & Safety legislation (LOLER 98 and PUWER 98) that specifies every forklift attachment in use must have a Report of Thorough Examination (akin to a car's MOT) that is available for presentation to an enforcement officer if required to do so.

Failure to carry out Thorough Examination could put you at risk of prosecution by the HSE, could invalidate your insurance...or much worse in the case of a serious accident arising from faulty equipment.

To heighten the importance of ensuring your attachments are up to date with this legal requirement, as a CFTS accredited company, for the month of August we will be running our 'Summer of Safety' campaign, where we will be inviting you to send us your forklift attachments for a FREE Thorough Examination.

This will be a FREE service that we will be carrying out during August, no catch or hidden costs. On completion of a successful examination, we will issue you with the appropriate certification and Report of Thorough Examination document, which can be presented to your enforcement officer if requested

Our 'Summer of Safety' campaign will be up and running from 1st August, so please check back on our website during this time, and make sure you click on our Thorough Examination campaign banner to take advatange of this offer

N.B. Spaces will naturally be limited, so we encourage anyone interested in finding out more about our Summer of Safety campaign to get in touch
