Why use a forklift sweeper ?

Sweepers for forklift trucks offer the ability to quickly and easily sweep large surface areas whilst at the same time reducing labour time and freeing up resources.  Sweeping costs can also be reduced significantly with a forklift sweeper by eliminating the need to sub contract the cleaning or hire charges when using a ride on sweeper.

What type of forklift sweepers are there ?

 There are really two main types of sweepers available for forklift trucks.  Rotary hydraulic sweepers or push broom sweepers.  Rotary hydraulic sweepers generally come with hydraulic collection hoppers fitted as standard for waste collection and offer a very effective solution for cleaning and sweeping large surface areas. They require hydraulic connection to the forklift truck.

Push brooms on the other hand offer a low cost, simple, maintenance free solution for smaller lightweight sweeping. These forklift sweepers are generally used the same way as a normal broom, and are sometimes referred to as forklift brooms.

Will the forklift sweeper  fit my forklift ?

Hydraulically operated forklift sweepers such as that in our BEMA range would require hydraulic connection to the forklift truck. These forklift sweepers come supplied with

hydraulic hoses  c/w BSP quick release couplings. If a spare hydraulic service is not available then the forklift engineer can break into the sideshift for connection. Mounting to the forklift truck is often via the forks allow quick and easy fitment although quick hitch adaptors are available

The push brooms or forklift brooms are simply slipped on to the forks of the lift truck, and dependant upon the model of sweeper they can either come with simple screw retention to the forks or chain retention.

What can the forklift sweepers sweep ?

Both Hydraulic sweepers for forklifts and push broom sweepers for forklifts can be used in a multitude of environments, for example; recycling plants, farm yards, construction sites, warehouses, car parks – in fact anywhere there is debris to be swept up there is a forklift sweeper to suit.

The versatility of these forklift brushes is such that they can be used on any material ranging from general debris to water and even snowfall.
