Why use a forklift scoop ?

Forklift scoops and forklift buckets when attached to the front of your forklift offers a simple way of allowing your forklift truck to carry out such tasks as loading, shovelling and transferring of loose aggregates

What are the Health & Safety Requirements ?

All our forklift scoops  and buckets are manufactured in accordance with the latest EC machinery directives and are manufactured to ISO 9001 quality regimes

All our forklift scoops are ‘CE’ marked and come supplied with Certificate of Conformity, full technical rating details, and set of operating instructions.

For point of sale measurements a select number of our forklift scoops can be calibrated and come stamped by the Trading Standards Department.

Will the forklift scoop fit my forklift ?

All our forklift scoops  are designed to fit onto the forks of conventional fork trucks. The main things to check when ordering a forklift scoop to fit your forklift, are the width and thickness of your truck forks, the maximum fork spread of your truck (distance the forks on your lift truck are set apart), and the capacity of your truck (It is important that the combination of forklift scoop attachment and load do not exceed the forklifts rated load capacity). It is important to confirm if you have a conventional forklift or another type such as a Reach truck or Pedestrian Stacker as these may have fitment issues.

Our Carriage mounted forklift buckets have been designed to fit onto the carriage rails of conventional forklift trucks. The important information to bear in mind when ordering a carriage mounted forklift scoops to fit your lift truck is the carriage class and the capacity of your truck (It is important that the combination of forklift scoop attachment and load do not exceed the forklifts rated load capacity).

Will the forklift scoop suit my product?

Whatever the product you intend to scoop, we have a forklift bucket in our range to suit. For sand and gravel our Easyfill Scoop or Multiscoop would be the best choices.  The Easyfill forklift scoop is a compact designed scoop with easy filling characteristics and good manoeuvrability. This is the Builders Merchants choice.  For long reach capabilities and easy loading and unloading of vans and lorries, then our Multiscoop should be considered. Both these forklift buckets are ideal for Builders Merchants etc when handling of sand and gravel is required.

For a good all round general purpose forklift scoop where exact measurements of contents is not important then our High Lift Scoop or our recently newly introduced Economy scoop would make an ideal choice. Hydraulic option is available on all our forklift scoops.

When choosing your forklift scoop, the volumetric size of the scoop should be considered along with the type of product being handled (This is known as the 'Fill Factor'). Some products like sand etc would have a higher weight by volume ratio that other products like sawdust (Please consult our sales office if you require guidance as to what volume of forklift scoop would be suitable for your product)

• Ensure the forklift truck is of the counterbalanced variety (other styles of forklift trucks may require a more tailor made forklift scoop)
• If ‘Carriage Mounted’ ensure the forklift carriage type is suitable with the forklift scoop connection detail (if unsure, please consult our sales office)
