Company Overview

History

Our company was founded by our two Directors, Mr. John Cufley and Mr. Robert Taylor in Rochester, Kent 1974. From humble beginnings the company, trading at the time as 'Contact' entered the material handling industry by designing and fabricating mechanical scoops, forklift fork extensions and forklift lifting jibs.  The initial success of these products allowed the founders of the company to develop the business and enter the marketplace as being one of only five forklift attachment manufacturers in the UK

During 1978 we branched out into the manufacturing of automatic specialised palletising and dispeners. Major contracts with Cadburys, Tate & Lyle, Johnsons Polish, Tayto Crisps and Hellmann's Mayonnaise allowed us to expand our production facility, resulting in re-location to larger premises in Mid Wales.

In 1980 the company's trading name was changed to 'Contact Poweriser Ltd'

With continued growth in the forklift attachment and material handling side of the business and with an ever increasing expansion of the product range, the strategic decision was taken to concentrate on the forklift attachment side of the business resulting in the company solely specialising in the design and manufacturing of these products.

Current

Over the last 15 years, under the guidance of the Directors and the managerial leadership of Mr. Des Phillips, the company has created an employee empowered environment, which has proven highly successful. With no hierarchy of job titles in place, all staff members are treated as equals with shared responsibilities. This has created a motivated workforce in a friendly run environment. This can be evident to our customers when they deal with ourselves. 

Since our inception in 1974, we have grown our Company to become "The No. 1 Quality Leader in Truck Attachments" and have acquired along the way an enviable reputation within the industry, of which we are justly proud.

Know througout the industry as 'Contact Attachments' the decision was made to change our company trading name officially to 'Contact Attachments Ltd' in 2008.

From being one of the first forklift truck attachment manufacturers in the UK, our company has continued to grow and prosper by sticking to our philosophy of offering first class customer service, being on hand to offer technical help and guidance when needed, and manufacturing a high quality product that is competitively priced within the market.

Exciting new opportunities in the overseas market has also further helped develop the Contact brand beyond the UK market.
